Hi John... everyone...
A couple of questions, if I may. Are you looking for a simple two color logo or can it be something more complex?
Also, there is the matter of size... file size, that is. If you intend to use the logo strictly on the web site, the resolution doesn't matter very much (computer screens can only see around 80 pixels per inch). But if you'd like to have the option of the logo being reproduced on things like mugs, mousepads and t-shirts... you're going to require a final image that is at least three times the size of the finished print.
So, let's just start with the web site logo... what dimensions (in inches) did you have in mind?
I'd like to attempt this... but I need a little more information.
Thanks very much,
Helen

I think something simple would be good.

I said in my first post..

I'm looking for a logo that we can use not only on our website but also on items at
http://www.cafepress.com/
and at our local embroidery shop.
We will also use the logo in print such as on business cards and letterheads.
We would like to be able to use the logo any place we decide to.

The one I created that is at the top center of our page now is 355x60. I think that seems to fit the page pretty good now.

Often it is best to make the original 'product' high resolution for print unless it's only for web use. You can always go smaller in size, but lose quality if you try to go from small to large. Someone who work with graphics will have little trouble making adjustments for various type of products. I think several of us are pondering on what we would like to do - be patient, John.

Please give some feedback on the idea, and if it's not too bad I can try to make it look better. Thanks!
Thanks for trying, but it's not professional looking at all.

So far this is the only thing I can come up with. Not very exciting, but thought I'd share ...

I'm just bouncing some stuff around, too...
Here's what I've come up with so far. I'll head back to the drawing board tomorrow...

digitalmischief, locomouse
Not bad, but they seem more like banners then logos to me.
I think something with a clear background would be good.

I don't know how well anything with a colored background would look on a hat, shirt, mug, etc...

Stratman4u,
Thanks for posting the black and white image.
Until you mentioned a black and white version I did not even think of it.
We do place ads in some local newspapers and having a logo that looks good in black and white too would be a plus.
There are a lot of things I like about your logo design and I'm very glad you took the time to enter the contest.
Thanks.

Here's what I came up with. Original is done in a much larger size, of course.
