Washer spins but doesn't drain

My washer spins but doesn't drain.  I took the front panel off the machine.  Pump doesn't seem to have anything moving in it.  How do I know if it is the pump or a belt that needs repair?  Can the hose on this machine be clogged?  This is my first attempt at fixing a washer.  Thanks!

Is the pump & belt turning during spin (opposite direction of agitate)?

Is there anything caught in the pump ?

You could try laying the drain hose on the (basement) floor (with a drain) to see if it will drain freely by itself.

the impeller could be broke or the hose(tub to pump) might have a sock in it,lay the drain hose on the floor and water should come pouring out,if it does then your pump is probably bad,by the way dang it I have one of these pumps in my junk new and in the original plastic bag.Maybe I need to check into Ebay,Naw I don't think so.haha

Okay.  So when I went to find out if it was the pump or if something was clogging it, I decided to look under the machine.

I found the belt that runs the pump just sitting under the machine, not broken.  How would that happen?  Do I just need to put it back?  And how do I do that?  Thanks!!

 no tools needed,you just stick it back on. The motor has springs on it that make it cushion the effect of the spinning, ya might need to replace them but I doubt it. The washer probably had an unbalanced load and spit the belt. Easy Money replacing one of these belts

Just wanted to say thanks for all the help!!  My husband and I tipped the washer back, put the belt back on, and DONE!  Love it when it works out...thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
