My Kemore 80 Sereies Electric Dryer will not Heat

Hello, I am having a Kenmore Electric Dryer 80 Series and when I put in my second load for drying it will run fine but will not heat. Can you please help as I cannot afford to replace the dryer. Model# 110.62832100 Serial# ML2108682 Type SWSR-ELE-2406028-CV54 Thank you and I hope to hear soon.

Heating elements can fail at any time, especially after running a load. Check your element with an OHM meter for continuity after you check for 240 volts at the power cord.

Thank you very much for your reply. I tried switching the trip switch off and On but still no luck. I have to go get the Ohmmeter so will be able to check the circuit and reply today evening. Also how do I check for the loose cicuit breaker? I have been suing this dryer for the past 1 1/2 year and have had no problem. Also, when the second load did not heat I discovered that the lint trap had a lot of stuff as I had forgotten to clean it from ladt time and cleaned it up.

So once it cools down it works? If so your high limit thermostat is tripping which usually indicates restricted air flow. Dryer and ducts probably need a good clean out.

HEllo,

It is not heating at all any more but the dryer runs/spins etc. I cleaned both the ducts after opening it yesterday and is now clean.

You need to check the safetys mounted on the side of the heater; the small one usually kicks out and it is rated for 300 f so the bigger one is bad too because it is rated for 250f and did not shut down causing the smaller one to trip. They come in a kit #279769.
