Whirlpool duet washer now getting three beeps

I have the same problem with the same model Duet. Three beeps when I hit the power and nothing else. Running the diagnostic I get an F70 error code. I am not convinced the service tech knew what he was doing, but ordered a motor control unit. I think the error code indicates a CCU.

I tried to post my question about the three beeps on the thread started by hot57ford about exactly the same topic because his thread never had a resolution to the problem. The moderator chose to start a new thread for my question. In a private message to hot57ford, he said he replaced all the major components without solving this problem and was told by a repair service that it was likely a wiring harness problem and was not worth finding and repairing. He went out and bought a top loader with mechanical controls. Knowing what I know now, I would never buy one of these front loaders. After my next $400 service call, I will post how I made out. If it isn't fixed, I will be buying a top loader and telling everyone I know about this problem. If these front loaders are so good for the environment, how is dumping a two year old washer good for the environment?

The service tech came back and replaced the MCU board (8183196) at lower front left side and that solved the problem. Even though the auto diagnostic gave an F70 error code, which indicated no heartbeat from the CCU, he told me he had diagnosed that the MCU board was the problem when he pulled the smaller wiring harness plug from the MCU and the washer came to life, although for an abbreviated cycle. This led him to conclude that it was not the CCU or the user interface.
