newfangled electronic appliances
« on: February 15, 2008, 11:06:43 AM »
Hay we need each others advice, I ain't had the pleasure of working on any LG appliances but I am learning a lot myself. An old man like meself needs to ask as much questions as possible on these new fangled electronic space shuttle gizmos  they have out now. I need to brush up on my TV/Radio repair skills to know how to fix these puppys!

YES, the new fangled electronic LG's (and others)...

We're all learning... :o

Some appliance makers know more about electronics that others.
F&P  :tickedoff:  Maybe they should read these forums...

I'm not a applianace repairman, just a semi-retired electronic technician (Delco automotive electronic) and have fixed most of my own appliances and a few TV's in the past.

I have collected about 20 various wood Zenith (tube) table radios and a few floor models..  haven't worked on them yet...

I could go on...

I'm into computers / electronics / internet ect..

We had an Amana (cheap scratch & dent sale) washer that after 7yrs must have learned we live near the airport.

I wasn't into replacing the tub seal & bearing, so went looking for a new washer/dryer.

I found the LG service manuals on-line and liked the manuals, and I D/L them all.

I even have a few Training manuals & videos (no longer online)

Parts are avaliable from Sears and a few other places... (unlike some other brands)

We bought the WM2688 & DLG8388 a few months ago...love'em so far..

a little trivia:

what are the 3 musical notes of the NBC logo ?

hint:
NBC was once owned (and is again) by the General Electric Corporation

All of them?

How many is that?

I have a small collection of service manuals from Whirlpool, Maytag, LG, Frigidaire and GE just to name a few.
These have been added to my collection from factory cd and online factory sites.

Last I looked I had over 1000 service manuals.

RegUS_PatOff,

Could you fill me in on were you got these?

I can log into the LG factory site and search for manuals by model number and download them, but I can not seem to get the URL's for them.

We would like to come up with the URL's for there manuals so we can working on adding them to the download page.

Was wondering if you had some other way you are getting these manuals other then signing into the LG site.

Hope you find our site helpful.

Washers/Dryers:

http://136.166.4.200/SubPages/DA_Laundry.htm

(or other appliances in the left column)

click on model number, then in left column (click or copy & paste URL)

I got them about a year ago before they changed there site address.

They also had a few training manuals 6MB and some dissasembly videos (25-50 MB) online

I got them all (fridge, w/d, d/w, dehumid, range, A/C, PC LCD, M/W, back then using BlackWidow (auto search & d/l) program
