maytag dryer
« on: October 19, 2009, 01:22:43 PM »
I have a Maytag Model DE712 dryer that will not turn off. The dryer continues to heat even if I turn off the timer from any setting. The only way to turn it off is to open the door, or leave it on till it's breaker trips 13 hrs later.

Sounds like a timer may be what you need, how old is it?

Element shorted to ground? Try running on air fluff mode,if it heats you may have a bad element. Do you have a meter? Also could have a bad motor switch, but will have to use a meter to find out.
