Kenmore Electric Range

I have a Kenmore electric range that is less than two years old. (Isn't it convenient how everything goes wrong as soon as the warranty is up) Three of the burners are already giving me trouble. Thanks to this forum and a little tinkering i've deducted that I need to replace the switch on two of the burners. The one which I can't figure out is the dual burner. The dual/outer band is working fine but the single/inner burner will not turn on at all, can someone tell me if there is a problem with the switch or the actual element?

If you have a meter or Continuity tester you can test the the switch and the element if the element bad it will be open...

if you can't test it.. It is most likely the element..

Thanks for the info, one more question. Is this the same meter you would use to test the current in a light socket?

You will need a meter that can tell you how many ohms or volts you have at the probes...
