OK, I did it. I turned the machine on it's side and loosed the water pump from the machine's base by removing 3 5/16" screws. After removing the two hoses attached with hose clamps, the pump slipped right out and the new one went in just as easily. I replaced the new belts that I ordered and the machine runs perfectly. And to think I was ready to go buy a new machine. I ordered the pump through amazon. com and paid less than half of what the other sites were asking.
Now, since I am in a fixing mood, my next task is to replace the ignition control module and coils for my Saturn.
Wish me luck
