I am working on my first front loader,
MAH2400AWW
!!! It gives a dl code which means door lock.
I set it on spin and slapped the door and she took off and spun for about 5 turns. i am thinking I have a faulty doorlock. I removed it and it has a red wax motor in it. Is that baby bad?
Yall tell me the correct way to check it, to check the door switch? I have it in my hand.

There ain't no lid
Was the manual too technical for you? A Dl code means the lock assembly is bad....or at least the control thinks so ...you said already that when you slammed the door it ran briefly.
Do like the rest of us and go with the cheap part first.

That is what I was thinking sir. My friend has the dryer and washer combo that was donated to him from a local furniture company. So Iwill relay that info to him. But to tell you the truth we will probably send this baby over the scales because we don't have any money to blow on parts to SEE if that fixes it.

We was just revisiting the old wax motor phenom. This dang switch has 3 legs right? 2 wires heat that wax and the 3 rd one achieves continuity only when the the pin is extended out so the wax motor has 2 functions. To act as a latch and tell the brain the door is latched, am I correct?

only 2 wires...heats the wax, pushes the Pin out..
which then pushes a latch and a real switch ...
(all inside the Door Latch)

light bulb would go across N and C
( N side of bulb would have power... C side of the light bulb would get power from L when the switch is closed)

Factory Part #
34001011
Buy a new switch from your parts distributor and mark it up when list it on the customers invoice.
That is what I do.
