If it blew the thermostats, chance are the compressor is bad or has shorted windings. Regardless, you  may not find anyone with any R-12 in stock to do this for you, and converting the FF side to 134-a requires a new compressor, condenser and evaporator coil. I think I'd be shopping for a new fridge, since you could have a repeat episode on the other side later down the road.

You can use R-414b all so known as 'HOT SHOT' . But I find that R-414a works better than R414b. In fact if you do warranty work for Whirlpool's non 134a systems you are required to use R-414a. this is on Whirlpool household Refig. & Freezers. Plus you only use 80% as compared to R-12.
