Washer not agitating, spinning or draining

My washer filled with water and never started agitating and so I thought to drain the water by running the spin cycle and it wont do that either .... when pulling the knob out it just ticks and but doesnt turn to cycle...

what do i need to do?

Sounds to me like 2 problems here.
1. A bad lid switch not allowing the machine to pumpout.
2. A bad direct drive coupling not allowing the machine to agitate or spin.
Make sure the timer pointer is a little past the SPIN mark on the dial.Turn it on,raise and lower the lid to see if it pumps out.
It should pump water out unless the lid switch is bad or something is stuck in the drain pump.
A garment in the drain pump would also stall the motor from agitating as well.
