LG refrigerator - whine when doors are closed
« on: September 20, 2009, 09:45:44 PM »
First may I say thanks to all of the great advice givers here - I've learned a ton from you already.

I have an LG LRFC25750TT top mount, french door fridge that has begun to whine when I close the fridge doors.  It sounds like someone is taking off on a crotch rocket motorcycle.  Please someone, be gentle and tell me it's something totally normal and that won't cost me anything to fix...

Thanks in advance.

The refrigerator is slightly pressurized when the doors are closed. It sounds like you have an air leak somewhere around the door seal causing the seal to vibrate against the cabinet.

The model number is LRFC25750TT

The whine had stopped so I forgot about this for a day or two but this morning I opened the fridge and it was warm and the display read ER on the fridge part and FF on the freezer part.  I guess that's why the whine stopped, eh?

Life is NOT good...

Thanks again for the help.

Er FF is the error code for the freezer fan. It has stopped working.
