Wash Cycle

I know my lid switch is wonky--occasionally the washer doesn't stop when the lid is open.  

When I can catch the washer "in action" I notice that the agitator is doing it's job (we replaced parts about 2 years ago) twisting, but it seems like the tub is basically staying in place.  Shouldn't the tub be moving as well?  It is perfectly still.  I believe it is supposed to be moving.  If so, where do we start???

You would want the tub to stay still in the agitational mode so that the clothes would not get knoted up
