Here's some history on the unit. It started to not dry so well, especially on humid days. I researched on the forum and did the whole lint cleanout routine, and yes, lint was caked on the thermostat near the blower wheel. I checked all the electrical parts for continuity and visually inspected the heating element while on (dang that emits alot of heat). All that and the unit did work better, but it seems on days we are doing multiple loads it does get inconsistent.
Then a new thing occurred. When the high heat run finishes the unit shuts off and the buzzer sounds....and doesn't stop. And I think (not fully verified) that if you turn it a little more to stop the buzzer, it eventually starts the no heat cycle on its own.
Soooo, appears to be a timer problem which needs replacement. Am I right?
Could this also have added to the inconsistent and poor drying in the past also?
Since I am going to buy a part, should I repace anything else that is low cost and easy? I prefer not to be penny wise and pound foolish, and to take it apart multiple times. It still beats buying a new unit for $800+ (the wife is eyeing those fancy top of the line units...which means I got to get the color coordinated matching washer

).
