Maybe nothing needs to be replaced just yet. If something (like a thong, perhaps) got jammed in the pump, the motor would stall and smell burnt. What you need to do next is to
remove the cabinet and pop the pump hoses off to check for obstructions. Then,
remove the pump and see if it will turn manually. Since the pump is directly connected to the front motor shaft, as you will see once you remove the cabinet, an obstruction will cause the problem. Sometimes the simplest solution is just an inspection.
