Kenmore 80 series washer just stopped
« on: September 07, 2009, 12:44:24 PM »
washer was used last night, and first load was put in this morning.  filled with water and ran through first wash cycle.  Then, it just stopped.  Have checked the lid strike, it's okay; the "click" is there on the lid power switch.  Nothing happens on any setting.

I've checked to assure that the power outlet works.  Those are the steps I've taken.  Any suggestions?  Right now it's sitting there full of water.

OK...couple of other steps I took...looking at that top loader blues manual...i jumped the lid switch, got no results...however, after putting the control back on the washer...I got about 60 seconds or so of washing in a couple of locations on the dial...and then of course, it quit.  (I also permanently bypass the lid switch...got the wires tied together...I know I'll have to replace the switch when I finally get this figured out...but I'm pretty confident now that it's not the switch...or at least I think I am)

661649 is the timer number Before you buy one or order one check to see if the connection is loose. I saw one just like this not long ago and the molex block had backed out a hair.
