If you go 0.00 that means that is an open fuse, replace that dude ...

what? If you have got 0.00 meter reading that means that is an open circuit (bad fuse), replace that dude. When that  is blown the dryer will not run. Clean out the dryer and vent or that baby will just blow again. Gee Jumpy understood it.

JW,

0.00 ohms would mean the fuse is good because there is no resistance.
If the fuse was bad you would get no reading at all because the fuse is open.

Alright guys I am a little confused here.... ??? Someone is telling me I have a bad fuse and someone else is telling me the fuse is good. Is there anymore trouble shooting I can do to try to determine what really wrong with my dryer?

I don't mean to butt in here, but the easiest way to test for continuity is with a continuity tester. Buy one at your parts supply house. They are cheap. If it lights up when you touch the probes to the terminals there is continuity. No light, no continuity. Make sure you pull the electrical connectors off of the fuse or thermostat before testing so you don't get a false reading. Some say it doesn't make any difference, some say it does. Take them off anyways.

A light tester would not do anything but prove you is getting power to the fuse. Unless you want to remove a wire and test between the live wire and the naked terminal a light won't do it. When you turn on your new fangled digital meter and you do not have your leads touching whatever that reads on the meter is a open circuit. If you test the fuse and get no change on the meter then you have an open circuit. You must remove the wires on what ever you are testing so you wont get a false read. Does that meter of yours have an audible ohms selection? When you get a good part the meter beeps telling you that component is good. That is what I use.

If you are going to pick up the part at a local place that does service just bring in the old part with you and have them test it to see if it's good or bad.

I have checked both fuses and each returns 1 ohm.  Belt is fine and motor turns with manual drum spin.  Cleaned out vent and blower fan turns fine.  When I press the 'go' button it hums but the motor doesn't go.  Any other ideas?

The motor needs to be replaced...it should start on its own and not by manual persuasion.  Bad motor
