Kenmore 80 series dryer cut off

I just joined the site and have done some research about my dryer. It's a Kenmore 80 series and it just cut off mid cycle yesterday and won't restart. I checked the fuse box for the house and the dryer fuse didn't trip, I checked the wall and it's still getting eletricity from the socket. After looking around different sites most people point to an internal thermal fuse as the potential problem.

Any other ideas on a potential problem? How difficult is it to replace the part and how would I replace that fuse? I also read that the fuse trips when overheated. After doing a thorough lint cleaning, is there anything else I can do to prolong tripping/overheating the new one I install?

What is the model number of your dryer?
The model number can be found on the model/serial number tag located on the dryer.
The model number should start with three digits then a dot followed by eight more digits.
For example, 123.12345678

hey guys I replaced the thermal fuse, upper heat thermometer, and the lower thermostat, cleaned out the dryer, made sure the blower fan spun freely (it does) and replaced the hose from the dryer to the side of the house.

Plugged it back in and turned the fuse back on, and the dryer clicked on for a split second and then shut back off again. SO I'm assuming the fuses I just bought and installed are blown again and I'm back to square one. Any ideas here?

The dryer came on for about a second and then cut back off. I just replaced those three fuses. Will I need to replace them again? Any ideas as to the problem? Is it worth calling out a tech or just replacing the dryer? Thanks

I need to be more specific:

I opened the door to see if the dryer light would turn on and show it has power. I didn't try to start the dryer, just opened the door. The light came on for a split second and then the dryer cut off.

I bet you left some wires disconnected. I did the same thing last week.

this whole time it was a faulty fuse in the main box. Learned my lesson and will now check the fuse box in addition to the wall socket. thanks guys.
