Difference between Lid Switches.

Hi Guys,

                    What are the different Types of Lid Switches used.I know there is a Striker but would like to know the others that might be available?Can you share how they Fuction?How to correctly Inspect and Test them?

Some are mechanical with a switch that is replaceable.Others have no replacement switch. Others have a locking mech to keep the lid locked. Some use magnets instead of strikes. Some of them even have wax in them and a tiny heater. The wax gets melted, expands, and pushes a pin forward locking the door. The only way to get the door open is wait till the wax motor cools off.
