Neptune Washer: New Motor -- New Smell?

My motor went out on my washer. Thanks to this site, I easily replaced it with the conversion kit 12002039. Everything seems to be working great, but there is an electrical smell when the washer is used now. It seems like it's diminishing over time (it's been 5 days), but I'm wondering if this is typical or normal? Or am I burning something up?

It may not necessarily be an electrical smell you perceive, but a burning off of grease from the spinner shaft. This is not uncommon after replacing a motor which has not been spinning up to par for awhile. Should not  be a problem unless the tub seal has been compromised, but only time will tell. As long as it is not grinding when spinning, you should be OK.
