Kenmore Frigidaire front load washer - No Spin
« on: August 26, 2009, 09:06:12 PM »
I have a Kenmore Frigidaire front load washing machine model 417.44142400.  I think it blew the same fuse.  It is a round, black ceramic disk approx 3/4" in diam. with the letters: NTC 2.5, a horizontal line, then the numbers 0344.  It also has 2 pigtails & is soldered into the main control board.
The machine would not go into spin cycle.  The Sears tech came out, said this little disk was my problem, but he would have to replace the entire board for $479. (& ten days).  I declined and paid him the $129 service call.
I would like to try replacing this little fuse.  Does anyone know where to get the fuse, Please???  Thanks

Model 417.44142400

That's not a fuse it's a capacitor you need to repace the speed control board. You should start a new topic rather than tagging a post to someone elses post.

Hi jpn43,

I split your reply into a new topic to help keep thing simple.

Here is the factory part number on the board you need.

134149220

APWagner has it for $151.54 when I looked and if you Click Here you will find a 10% off coupon we have posted for them.

Hope you find our site helpful.

Thank you for the link cupon & help. But, why does the entire board need to be replaced?  why can't I purchase this little NTC 2.5 -0344 capacitor, and solder it in where the old one was?  Thank you, John

Is that actually the bad part ?

Does it look bad ?

Is the Fuse OK ?

JW, better run a virus scan on your box, bud...those russian websites frequently hide them in their pdf files. That link should go as well....

You can replace the capacitor but working on circuit boards takes experience and a low wattage soldering iron you can fry other components with too much heat.
