wbse3120b1ww top loader belt replacement

Hi appliance junk. You and I have done some chit chatting over at smfhacks and I am in need of your expertise.

I have a wbse3120b1ww washing machine that I believe needs a belt replacement, or at least I hope that's the situation.

I guess the first thing I should note is that I don't know what I am doing at all.

I am struggling to get this thing apart. The back doesn't come off and it appears that the front might if I can remove the lip plate around the top. I have seen on a couple other sites around the net that say the sill plate slides forward and then up. For the life of me I cannot get this to slide forward. I have beaten the crap out of it with a rubber mallet lol and I think it budged about an 1/8 inch.

Do you or anyone else around here know how I can get into this contraption? lol

Well I managed to figure out how to get the front off (puddy knife) So much for beating the snot out of it lol.

Now that its apart, the belt appears to be fine. Which leads me to my new question... Now what?

There's a few clicking sounds (appears the relays are all working) but no drive action during the spin cycle. Bad motor perhaps?

For starters, here the GE topload Service manual so you don't beat any more snot out of your poor washer

My usual finding in cases like yours is a bad lid switch, but hey, you already got it apart, so whip the old OHM meter out and do some checking...
