Core Charge

I recently replaced my oven controller (Whirlpool 3195182) with a refurbished part from Sears.  Since the replacement was refurbished, is there any value to the old, non-functioning part?  Does anyone know who would purchase this part with the intent to refurbish it?  Any idea what the value is?

Did your part have a core charge on it?
Anything in the box that said to return it?

If something had a core charge on it we just return the old one to our parts dealer.

Not sure what the average joe would do when buying the part from sears.

Guess you could call sears and ask if there was a core charge on it.
