Frigidaire Electric Dryer - Dead

This Frigidaire FDE648GHS0 dryer would not run. I used a putty knife to release the two front clips that hold the dryer top down. Lifted the top of the dryer up and looked for the high limit thermostat (Thermal limiter) that was located in the top back corner on the right side. I check it with a ohm meter and it was open, bad just like a bad fuse. Installed a new high limit thermostat (Thermal limiter) and the dryer once again worked great.

I have the same dryer and it seems to be dead as well -- the only thing that is working is
the inside light. I suspect the high temp thermal switch as well. I don't have a volt meter to
test tho. Can I simply "jump" the thermostat as a simple means to test it?

PS I have opened the top and can see the switch. Prior to this, I did jump the
on-off button (from the back) and that didn't help.

Yes for test purpose only, you can jump the switch.

You needs to open up that dryer and see what cause the fuse to blow. Clean out that vent pipe.

a heater shorted to ground will cause this hi-limit to blow too
and the dryer will still heat with the shorted element sometimes
