I would like to thank member Whirlpooltech for making this video for ApplianceJunk.com  O0

This video will show you how easy it is to remove the transmission/gear case from a Whirlpool made direct drive washer.

At the start of this video the cabinet and agitator has already been removed.

These videos will help you with them two steps.

Video: How to Remove Whirlpool Agitator

Once you have the washer cabinet and agitator removed you will want to set the washer on it's back.
It will help to lay the washer down on a box or chair so the washer does not lay flat on the floor. If you lay the washer flat on the floor some water may run out of the top of the washer tub.

**Disconnect the power to the washer before you start any repairs**

There is no way that my luck can be this good.  I checked this forum for the first time a few moments ago and this looks EXACTLY like the solution I need for my WHirlpool washer.

The washer (GST9679PWO) works great, is balanced correctly, but makes a hell of a racket when the spinning concludes, almost like the braking mechanism is messed up.

I'll point my husband to this tread to see if it is infact the answer to our problems.

Thank you so much for being so helpful ON THE VERY FIRST VISIT!!!   :)

WITH ONE HAND ! the other hand is holding the camcorder.
After leaving this Earth, "Do you want the smoking or non-smoking section?"

The internet is amazing.

One thing I've learned from viewing websites,
is learning to type with one hand ,
After leaving this Earth, "Do you want the smoking or non-smoking section?"
