Optic sensor

I have a Whirlpool gold fridge, followed all the steps for the optic sensor.  2 blinks means it is defective, picked up parts today locally 85.00 for both boards.  Disc power installed boards, reconnected power light is on and steady.  Closed door waited for ice cycle one hour or so, opened freezer door and the light is blinking again---are the new boards defective now?  Did I do something wrong during install?

Slide the icemaker itself out so you can follow the instructions in the video below to check the unit...even though the unit shown is not mounted the same, the icemaker itself is identical. What we need to do is rule out a water valve problem or an icemaker failure without having to pull the refrigerator out.
