Admiral Washing Machine Help

Hi!

I have an old Admiral Top Load Washer, model # WC-4280820. It still works fine but my problem is...

The plastic thing that filters the lint,etc. got accidently dropped down the gap between the inner and outer tubs. The machine still works without it, but I'm wondering if this will eventually cause the machine's pump to eventually clog up with lint and cat hair?

I've looked at the machine and taking it apart to retrieve this part looks like a real pain, as in taking the outer cover off before I could get at whatever I'd need to do to remove the inner tub.

So, apart from the problem of having clothes come out of the wash with lint and cat hair still on them, am I damaging the machine by still using it like this? Should I try to get a replacement filter?

Hi Labonza,

Doing a quick check on the model number I could not pull up a diagram on it.
It maybe due to the age of the washer. How old would you guess the washer is?


Many of the new washers don't have any type of lint filter on them anymore.
The lint and pet hair all gets pumped down the drain with many of the newer washers.
