Dryer drum baffle melted off?????????

this is a strange one--the plastic baffle that screws inside the drum to grap/flip the clothes actually melted and came off?????--as cheap as i can get a used dryer I'm nervous about spending $30 for a plastic baffle to have it happen again-------how can this happen and any reason to think it wont happen again from the same cause whatever that may be??--have u ever seen such--thank you

I've seen that happen before. Check to make sure the belt is not broken and the tub is turning ok. You might need to replace the cycling thermostat.
