Trying to identify the one part that could fail and cause multiple problems at one time. Approx 3 year old GE washer, worked fine until last week. Now all at once:
1. Water level switch doesn't always seem to "work" (regardless of setting it to small, medium, large, or extra large, it seems to always fill to "large" water level).
2. In final spin cycle, it drains but doesn't spin. It does seem to spin in the intermediate cycle though (when ejecting soapy water, prior to filling with clean water for the rinse cycle).
3. It sometimes doesn't fill with clean water for the rinse cycle, but it agitates like it thinks it filled. It's agitating, but there's no water in the tub.
I'm assuming the unit's timer would be the likely candidate for explaining how all three of these issues cropped at once?
This was not an expensive washer (under $400), but given that it's only 3 years old, I can't see replacing it if a $75 timer will fix it.
Are all GE's this bad or did I just get unlucky? I got 17 years out of the old Kenmore it replaced.....
Thanks!
