Kenmore dishwasher
« on: January 27, 2008, 09:39:21 AM »
My dishwasher stopped filling....it was one month old when we bought the house and we used it only a couple of dozen times at most.   We replaced the inlet valve because the solenoid appeared to be shot.  The float valve is clean and the switch checks out with the multimeter. Then we got only the tiniest trickle of water into the machine.(It works fine, by the way, if filled with a bucket)

So we replaced the old copper tube with a larger diameter hose to the inlet because we thought perhaps the water was too slow.  Now it seems to fill adequately for the wash, but still won't fill for the rinse cycle.  I don't know what to try next.....it's really maddening, especially because the machine has hardly been used.  Naturally, the warranty is long over in spite of this.

I told my kid I could figure out how to fix this and I'm totally NOT handy.....please help me save face with my teenager!

possibly 665.15522000 made by Whirlpool

If you could check the voltage at the fill valve while in the Fill & Rinse cycles.

I agree with RegUS_Pat_Off, sounds like the timer is giving you the problem.

Thank you so much for your suggestions!
I figured out that the tube to drain the washer wasn't as high as it should  have been, therefore, the machine was draining as  it was filling.
It seems to be working fine now.  I appreciate you taking the time to help me out.
