Maytag electric dryer will not shut off automatically

I am working on a maytag dryer that won't shut off automatically in the off position. Door has to be open to shut it off. Start switch is good, not sticking. Any ideas? Bad contact in timer?

check that sliding centrifugal disk in the motor.

I will check it out tomorrow. I am not dismantling any more washers and dryers today. Its almost midnight. Thanks for the tip and I will let you know when I check it. I figured it would be the motor or the timer. Hope I have a spare of each if it is.

Just zoomoil that sliding cent switch and that oughta fix it. All that dust and crap gets into the motor and makes it stick especially if that baby has been sitting in storage.

Yeah, it was pretty yucky when I took it apart earlier to clean it. What is that cleaning product you recommend?

I like to blow the motor out real good and just oil the shaft. Use my finger to make sure it slides all propah. Definately DO NOT use WD40. Flammable oil in a motor in a dryer ain't a good thang.

I always vacuum out as much as I can around the housing, but using forced air is even better to get more out. I will start doing that, thanks.
