This dish washer acts weird . Only a few buttons on the console will work ,other times other buttons will work . It will never cancel drain and sometimes the time will jump from the time on the display to 1 and a few leds will flash and it goes back to the previous time . My question is this ..is there a fool proof method of telling which component is bad ,the console or the control board . Does any one know how to test the console ? The tendency would to change them both but its very expensive

The "fool proof" method is to have a replacement membrane that you can plug into the ribbon connector on the board.  This is what the service manual recommends when cycles don't set properly. Do you need a copy of the service manual for this one?

I had a similar problem with the Maytag Quiet series 300. The problem was the membrain/keypad. Electronic modules normally either work or dont work. Keypads get wet and corroded and cause strange problems

 I have the same dishwasher and the touchpad lights quit working but the front display works so I push the desired wash cycle and push start and it works fine. I know I need to either try and clean the contacts or replace the control panel. One of these days
