whirlpool dishwasher fill valve to powerful

My neighbors whirlpool dishwasher fill valve puts out a very powerful jet stream that points right at the edge of the door and seal contact point and will leak water when filling. I have a whirlpool dishwasher that is similar and the water comes out of the left side fill hole at a gentle stream.
I swapped my fill valve with his and on his dishwasher it puts out a very powerful stream of water.
Is there something in the dishwasher side that regulates the flow of water?

It’s not the DW valve. Check for a pressure regulator where water supply enters the house. While those work, it cuts pressure everywhere. Do a search for a small regulator you can install inline before the DW. I used a cheap $10.00 plastic one for a drip watering system, but that cut it to 25PSI, and it doesn’t have hot water going through it. Someone here should have the answer.

Tried a new fill valve, that did not fix it. I guess the valve on the side of the tub which is non adjustable or replaceable must be bad.

Try turning down the shutoff valve inder the sink to a point where you still have decent hot water pressure at the sink faucet. This may help. If not the valve or the inlet port assembly (air break) where the water enters the tub may be the problem.

I have turned the water valve until it is just cracked open, no matter where I adjust it I either get no water in the dishwasher or a jet stream from the port in the side of the tub. I think I am going to try to clean the inlet fitting with some lime remover.

A capitol idea! The water valve has a built in flow restrictor that would pretty much point to the inlet as nefarious.

lime away did not work, but a sixteen penny nail did the trick. Thanks for all your help
