dryer has gas smell coming out of vent pipe during cool down cycle

Has there been any painting or floor sealing done in the general area lately?

no..dryer heats up normally then after about 20 minutes when it starts to cool down i can start smelling gas outside coming from the vent..no smell when off, and no smell untill it runs for a while

Although rare, burner degradation does occur. Since this happens after usage, my only solution would be to replace the gas valve. It is shown below for your model, and you may click to view its price, etc.  Be sure to handle the fragile ignitor carefully when changing it over to the new burner assy.
