Kenmore mod 70 advice

I have just moved to an apartment that has the old 3 prong fryer power connections and I have the newer 4 prong cord. I have bought the 3 prong replacement cord but the instructions give no clue as to which leads to connect where. The new three prong cord says that the outside two leads are hot and that the middle lead is neutral.

On the washer the 4 prong courds are red white blace and green. The green is attached to the dryer body so assume that is the ground. The red and black both look like power leads, and the white wire has another lead attached to its terminal that comes from inside the machine. That wire is green with a yellow stripe.

My question is where do the leads on the three prong cord connect on the machine to opperate as the corresponding 4 leads do now?

You want to connect a three wire cord to your dryer because it has a four wire one on it now, correct?

On the three wire cord just make sure the middle wire goes on the center screw. The two out side dryer cord wires do not matter what out side screws they go on.

Also make sure the green ground wire from the dryer is connected to the dryer frame.
