when i lite the top burners they take a long time to ignight and when i turn either burner off it pops and the fire stays on.on the side hole of the cap for a while then it turns off with a pop!

The outlets on the burner are corroded and or greasy. Take a small needle or piece of wire and clean all the ports in the burners.

Look closely at the top burner igniter. You must get a brass brush (looks like a tooth brush) You gotta get the grease from around the igniter. Those burners will tend to get all stopped up. The gaskets underneith them wear out and gas slips from under the burner and that is the pop. You cannot get the gasket without ordering new burners(If somebody knows how I want to know) and if you remove the burner the gasket is gonna fall apart, you've been warned! To remove it you twist the burner a quarter turn And lift it up. This stove has some age on it. The ignitor wire is probably rusted to hell. You cannot buy the igniters seperately by the way BUT when you order them they will give a part number and the price is about 50 bucks(guessing). The thing you gonna get is the whole burner top with igniter(igniters are no longer sold seperately)and gasket.

thank you so much but why when the burnners are on theres a big flame comming from the big round hole on the burnner caps and when i turn the gas off fire continues from that big round whole on the burnner caps for a couple of secounds or so and then it pops

My guess is the igniters have rusted out and are loose.The gas goes out there and does the poof.

I believe you are missing some parts.You should not be able to see a big round hole.

once again the appliance junk team comes through it was the burners all of them were rusted and after taken them off they were rusted trhough again a millon thanks to all the peple at appliance junk
