GE washer leaks all over floor. I opened front and it seems to be overfilling.

washer is overflowing out of drain inside washer beneath tub. what causes this? is there a float or electronic gadget that tells it when its full?

Try this. No parts needed! Remove the small hose at the water level switch(by the timer) and blow out the hose to remove any sand or trash accumulated over the opening under the bottom of the tub. Go ahead use them lungs! Then put the hose back onto the switch tight to keep air from escaping. Pump the standing water out of the washer and try again.
