Kenmore Dishwasher Smart Wash

Our kenmore dishwasher was disconnected two months ago to have a new kitchen put in and after the kitchen was completed a plumber connected the dishwasher and the unit will fill with water and  can discharge water,  however, the washers or sprayers do not work. All the machine does is hum on all cycles. The unit worked fine when it was disconnected to have the new kitchen installed.

Does the machine have to have dishes in it to work? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Get in there and try to wiggle the motor shaft. Perhaps it has seized up from sitting up 2 months.

exactly, you may be able to move the motor from under the machine by moving the cooling fins on the motor

its very common for older machines to dry and sieze after extended periods of sitting idle

its fills by a valve and drains with a seperate pump, its the main wsh motor thats siezed

after you free it, check for leaks, they can start to leak after being freed up

i cant tell you much more as the model number you provided does not come up
actually the kenmore model numbers i find that start with 175 are for insinkerator garbage disposals?
