Whirlpool washer wont drain or spin

Washing machine will agitate and timer seems to work but will not drain or spin. Found a drill bit inside pump. Removed the bit and reinstalled but still no pumping.  Sounds like motor is not even trying to run.  Noticed after a few minutes it began to agitate again.

Is there a circuit breaker for the pump motor drive?  Any idea's?

The washer will not drain or spin if the lid switch is not closed when the lid is closed.

If the lid switch is ok you should be able to hear it click on and off as you open and close the lid.

If you can not hear the motor run during the drain or spin cycle there is a good chance it's just a bad lid switch.

Your model washer uses lid switch part number: 3949247

You can enter the part number in the Diagram & Parts search box on the left were is says, Enter Part Number.

You are a genius! I reached under the lid and held the switch while activating it and it now drains and spins.  The switch has never worked right but I thought that if it agitated, the switch was working. I was wrong. Further inspection of switch revealed that the glue holding the calmshell together came unglued and the guts are pretty coroded.

I'll get a new switch, thank you for your help!

Glad to hear you found the problem.
You may want to remove the cabinet to install the new switch.
If you have skinny arms and small hands you may not have to remove the cabinet to install the new switch, but it can make the job easier if you do.
