Maytag Performa Pav2300aww Not Spinning please help

Hello,

     My washer is not spinning it does agitate, and the belt spins but the tub doesnt move in the spin cycle. I put it in spin and lifted the lid pushed down on the lid saftey and waited it does drain completely but the tub never moved. I check for something caught between the tubs nothing in there what else should I check.

Look in the Maytag washer library for the Performa manual, as you likely need to replace the thrust bearing assembly under the machine.
Not such a big deal and not very expensive. The instructions come with the kit.

The tub is locked for wash mode. For spin mode the motor reverses and releases the brake and the tub spins. The kit comes with various washers to replace so that the brake will release. If you put too many then the tub won't lock in wash mode and the clothes will get knotted up. Too few washers and the brake will not release. The tougest part of this job is getting that dang clip on last to hold everything in place. I cheat by using a pry bar against the brake spring just to make it a tad easier to get that clip on.
