I saw in the paper that someone had a Neptune washer for sale. I called and asked about it and he said it is the 4000 model and it had the door lock/control board replaced a few years ago. They had no more problems until the other day and they came home and water was running in the tub and overflowing from the machine although the washer wasn't even on. He said that his wife wanted to get a new one in a top load because she was tired of bending over to load/unload it so they bought a new Maytag Bravos.
My question is, what could be the problem with this machine? Maybe the water valve, but why would it start pouring in water when the machine was off? I have heard of them sticking during the fill cycle but not sure about just doing it while it is off.
I have a 4000 myself and I thought about getting this one just to tinker with or maybe use the boards in mine if I ever need them?
He is asking $100OBO---so what is your opinion?

Thanks
