GE topload, no transmission, reversing dc motor

anyone ever worked on this monster before
i didn't even know this design existed till i opened this one today

i have to change the motor/inverter, the parts breakdown lists a belt instalation tool... is this tool really necessary?

anyone with the manual for this reversing d/c model?  email brntt0ast@hotmail.com
