my wife just came across this problem. when she put the switch on just cold water,there was not much pressure. when she switched to warm/cold, it came out faster.it takes along time to fill with just clod water.do i have a bad switch, valve,etc?

There is a built in screen inside the water inlet valve.
Turn the cold water to the washer off.
Then remove the cold water hose from the back of the washer.

Look inside the water valve were you remove the fill hose and see if the screen is full of junk.

If it full of junk you can pick the screen out of there and wash it out. Then make sure you put the screen back in.

If the screen looks ok and you have good cold water pressure when you run the water into a bucket from the same hose that feeds the washer then you will need to replace the water valve.

The factory part number for your water inlet valve is 285805.

A little trick I learned 25 years ago.  If the cold water screen in plugged,shut off the cold water hose ( leaver the hot on) & remove the cold hose from the valve. Next take your finger & stick it inside the valve from the rear & move it around (knocking debris loose) Set the water temp for WARM, put a rag under the open cold water on the valve & start the machine BREIFLY (1-5 seconds) on a fill position say 14 minutes regular wash. When the water starts to fill it opens both hot & cold solenoids, and back flushes the valve screen. There is almost no chance of any debris getting past the screens into the valve causing a failure (stuck open valve,flooding) This is the safest way I have found to clean the screens. If it is the hot, do the opposite.

Glad to hear that you got it working. Did you just need to clean it out or did you have to put in a new water valve?
