201R Subzero frig only ref charge?
« on: June 11, 2009, 01:05:07 PM »
Curious if anyone has had experience with the 201R Subzero refrigerator?  I am recharging the unit with R414 and would like to know what pressures you have charged to?  Thanks

Charge the same weight as the original refrigerant.

I stopped using that crap after a bounced warranty by Tecumseh, they do not recognize it nor does Copeland.

Just get it to about 5 PSI, if the ear gets ice on it you have too much. best to weigh in the charge but who has the equipment?
My rule of thumb:
Ice box/freezer= 5 psi low side
auto= 35 psi low side
Central or window unit 70 psi low side

Superheat (for units with fixed metering device): Compute the superheat by determining saturated suction temperature from Temperature Pressure Chart. Subtract from actual suction line temperature six inches before compressor. The manufacturers recommended superheat is usually listed in the installation instructions on the units rating plate.
If it is not listed use 15 degrees of superheat as a default.

Most of the R12 units are all gone bye bye. the newer crapola mexitronically engineered chanese crap cane asily be charged if da propah technic is used. Find da leak. stop da hole. get dee air out and recharge dat puppy. Simple as fixing a tire. i can see it now:
Billy mayes here for the sublime master mighty putty ice box sealant and recharge. Just a simple plug and a shot is all ya need. $19.95 money garonteed  O0
