Manual for Maytag Admiral Dryer
« on: June 12, 2009, 09:36:10 PM »
I checked the Manual thread but did not find a link to the manual I need. If anyone has a downloadable version it would be greatly appreciated.  Even a couple of diagrams would suffice at this point.

Our dryer is not heating.  I replaced the thermostat today but it is still not working.   Should I have replaced the thermal cut offs/fuses as well??

Any information is greatly appreciated as we are tired of going to the laundrymat!  :tickedoff: >:(

The dryer tumbles but does not heat.  The heater element was fine.   I replaced the thermostat but still no heat.

If the thermal cut offs need replaced the dryer will not work at all??

If the limit is blown it will run but if the fuse is gone it will not run on this model. On a different type of admiral dryer that has this element if the limit is blown that there dryer won't run. ya made look yer model number up something I never hardly do.

This dryer is exactly like a roper dryer. The limits are mounted on the heater chamber. Everthing is accessed from the rear. If the dryer  runs but has no heat it is the element or the small limit mounted above the heater. Remove it and check it for continuity. if you do not have a replacement part just whack that sucker ona hard surface once or twice to reset it.

Well, I whacked the heck out of the suckah and no luck..lol!  I will get a replacment on Monday and go from there.   When I checked the element it seemed okay. I guess if after replacing the hi-limit and it is doing the same I will make another run and get an element.

I borrowed a continuity tester and a bag of old hi limit switches from my father in law since he seems to collect them! LOL!  From the diagram numero 3 and numero 1 were the culprits.   Numero 3 has been replaced already.  I will now beat the crap out of numero 1. If that does not work I will pay the 30.00 for the replacment since there does not seem to be a match in the goodie bag I was given.

Temporarily jump the wires out on the part and see if it heats.
If yes, spend the bucks for the part.
If no, keep checking.

If you decide to dry clothes with that puppy jumped out, sit there and baby sit it. Don't go to the 4th of july picnic or there might be some extra fireworks this year.

Well I played whack a limit switch for a few... checked with the continuity tester and low and behold we were reading some ohms.

We have heat now!!  O0   8) ;D ;D ;D

Thanks to all for the advice and tips.

When I went to purchase numero 3 (from diagram ) from a place called Marcone they sold it individually and it was a whirlpool part.
