Maytag Coin Operated Dryer Timer Issue

Hi,

I recently purchased a used coin operated Maytag gas dryer model MDG12CSAAW.  Everything has been working great until the last couple of weeks when I noticed that the dryer was being used, but there was no money in the coin box.  When I took off the access panel, I found that the plastic piece that fits on the end of the timer rod had come off allowing the timer to run continuously.  I manually rotated the cam timer to the stop position and put the plastic part back on the rod.  I then verified that the timer stopped after being restarted.  Now the dryer runs, but does not heat?  Did I incorrectly position the cam when I manually rotated it?  Does anyone know the correct stop position?  The timer says to see the owners manual for adjusting the timer, but I do not have one.  ANy help would be greatly appreciated.
