Vintage Can-Omatic Can opener not opening cans
« on: October 02, 2014, 02:47:09 PM »
Customer has this vintage can opener. (see pics)  Can Omatic.  It runs, but it doesn't grab the can or open the can.  Its been a while, but I remember that it has a little blade that should poke into the lid of the can right at the edge. It looks like it may be broken.  Hard to tell.  Anyone have any ideas of whats missing or broke, or if its even something that can be found?

It looks like the blade is gone, the one I had was like a roller cutter. Like a tubing cutter wheel.

I gave up on mine 17 years ago. No one could find parts. Try " theoldapplianceclub.com" or net

If you can't put the mechanism in a dishwasher to clean it, it spreads germs, I wouldn't use it.
