Burner Heads

How do I change the burner heads and ignitors on my stove? Everything that I read says that my burner heads are non-removeable however I have a couple of bad ignitors and 2 burners that are rusted out at the base where they meet the cooktop surface and emit a flame when turned on. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

First off I'm not a appliance technician, but here is some info I found that you may find helpful.

The factory part number for the burner head is 74003965

Click the part number should take you to the AppliancePartsPros order page for more info or you can enter the part number in the search box on the left were it says, "Enter Part Number".

At the time of this post APP did not have any photos of the part.

Going by the repairclinic site it looks like the part include the cap and spark electrode.

Being you can order the part I would guess it could be replace.

How easy I don't know, someone with some experience in that area will have to answer that.

Thanks for the replies and the manual. It looks like I just need to apply a little more pressure when I turn the burner head. I tried to turn it by hand and it wouldn't budge so I wasn't sure if that's the way they were removed or not. Thanks again.

One quick trick to removing those stuborn burner heads...if you don't have the handy tool made for the task, take off your leather belt and loop it round the burner like it was an oil filter. Your belt can then be cinched counter-clockwise with just enough torque to release the burner.
