GE Front Load Washer Pauses

I am new to this site hope I can get some help.  I have a GE front load and it pauses several times during the cycle.  Sometimes it pauses at 1 min and remains there.  What is the most probable malfunction.

Is there something you have to do once it pauses to get it going again or does it always starting running again on it's own?

Does it always pause in the same spots, if so what spots in the cycle does it pause?

I think my wife hits the start pause button but it may pause again.  It has paused at 21 min, 14 min, and 1 min.  When it pauses at 1 min it seems like the spin did not work because the clothes are wet.  We then run the spin cycle again and it seems to work.  One other note, the timer may say 4 min but it may take 10 min to finish.

My guess would be that the machine is not draining completely and going into spin. Check the pump and hoses for clogs.

Thanks Mr. Fix-it.  It was clogged beyond belief, money, lint, pencils and golf tees
