Whirlpool direct-drive washer will not spin, then will if turned by hand slightl

 The machine washes well but when it comes to spin cycle, it will not spin. You can open the lid, turn the tub by hand slightly, redial to spin and it works great. Checked coupler, is OK. Any Ideas?

Yep, you just described a classic clutch failure symptom. Got a few pointers HERE.

Much thanks for the info. Replaced clutch, washer's happy, Momma's happy and I'm out of the doghouse. Thanks a lot!!!
